Blue is back!

When I was younger, blue eyeshadow was a perfectly acceptable color to wear.  Then it went out of style for a long, long time.  It was one of those things that you were never supposed to wear again, along with leggings.  Well, guess what?  It's on the "okay to wear" list again.  Not just navy blue, but lighter shades as well.  So I've been experimenting with various shades of blue and ways of applying it.  One look that I saw and liked was blue and white.  It sounds strange but it looks good.  For this piece I also experimented with using something other than primer as a base.  In the past I've used MAC's paints (the original ones in the tubes) and they've worked great. This time I thought I'd try MAC's Fluidline, which are normally used for lining eyes, but I also use some of them as a shadow.  So on one eye I used my regular Urban Decay primer, and on the other I used MAC's Frostlite Fluidline.  You decide which eye you like better.

I like both eyes, but it was easier to blend the eye with the primer as shadow.  Plus I like white eyeshadow to be matte, and the Fluidline has sparkle to it.  But to each their own, you decide what works for you.  One bit of advice for wearing blue eyeshadow, be careful what you put on your lips.  I used a pinkish-nude (MAC's Angel).  Since blue is so bright, I like the rest of my make-up to be subdued so I don't look like I came straight from the 80's.
Have fun experimenting yourself!
