Sephora's double-ended make-up brushes are GREAT

If you like bright colors, or tools that do more than one thing, check out Sephora's double-ended brushes.  You get 2 brushes in one, and they come in fantastic colors.  And they work just as well as brushes that I've bought from other department store brand cosmetic companies.  Here's a link to one, and from there you can check out some of the others.

Indulging in fall fashion magazines

Yesterday I got my newest issue of Elle magazine.  It's my favorite one of the year - the fall fashion preview.  Yes, probably half of it is advertisements, but that's part of the fun.  So much eye candy to take in.  I love curling up in bed or the couch and leafing through every page.  My imagination runs wild, pretending that I can afford to buy the high-end designer's clothes, and that I'd have places to wear some of the fancy dresses.  In reality, I'm with the majority of women who can't afford to buy clothes from Chanel, Dior, or the others in couture.  But it gives me ideas on how to wear the clothes that I can afford.  And in today's hectic world where I often feel that I'm wasting time if I sit down to read, this issue is a luxury that hardly costs me anything.  If you don't subscribe to any fashion magazines, I recommend buying one or two of the fall issues and giving yourself this luxury, too.  You deserve it!  To get your imagination started, here's a photo of my favorite fall-themed necklace that I have in my Etsy store. Now let your imagination soar and start thinking up your personal fall fashions!

Make-up videos or photos?

I know that a lot of people do videos on You Tube with make-up tutorials.  I'm wondering if people prefer videos to the photo instruction blogs like I've been doing.  Although I love television and movies, for some reason I don't like watching videos online.  I much prefer reading a written article or blog with photos.  If I see an interesting article and click on a link to it, then discover it's a video, I generally won't watch it.  I know I like reading words and looking at photos because if I want to study a photo, or re-read a sentence, I can.  With a video you can rewind, but how many times do you want to do that?  And now there are often commercials, which I HATE, and sometimes the whole buffering thing.  Not everyone is online via a T-1 connection that's super-fast.
Anyone want to give their feedback?

Flickr photos

If you look at the photos that I have scrolling from my Flickr page, you'll notice they're not all jewelry items anymore.  I've always loved taking pictures, and since I've had to take them for this blog, I've gotten interested in  doing some of eyes and faces.  Some have come out so cool that I've created a 2nd shop on Etsy and am selling them.  I sold my first one a few weeks ago to a doctor who wanted one of my abstract photos of an eye for her office.  If any of you would like to buy one for your office or home, take a look at my shop on Etsy, LusciousPhotos.  If you'd like to have your own photo taken, whether a head shot or just your eyes or another feature that you love, leave me a comment here or send a message through Etsy and let me know what you'd like and how to get in touch with you.
If you want to see more of my photos I also have a blog on Tumblr where I post them, it's www.tumblr.com/405creations.  Here's a few more of myself that I did recently - I love the hazy, blueish glow on the first one, and the funky patches of color on the second one.  And incidentally, my hair looked horrible this day, and I still got some good shots!
